The 678 Area Code is intermingled with the 678, 770, and 404 area codes throughout the entire Greater Atlanta Area. You could eat at a different place in this region at every meal, and it would still take several years before you ran out of new places to eat. In this guide, I will talk about places to eat in Gwinnett County

The familiar: There are many well-known restaurants chains in the 678 area code that a visitor can go to when they want a taste of home.

There is an Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar in just about every neighborhood in Greater Atlanta. It is a family restaurants and sports bar with lots of TV’s and they serve typical American Bar and Grill food like ribs, chicken strips, and hamburgers.

IHOP (International House of Pancakes) has over 1200 restaurants in the United States so if you are looking for a familiar place for breakfast go there. You will find one in Lawrenceville on Lawrenceville Suwannee Rd, and one in Duluth on Pleasant Hill Road, among others sprinkled all over the area.

The authentic: From authentic Italian to Chinese, to Indian, here are some of the most popular places to eat.

Bahama Breeze, located on Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth GA gives you a taste of the Caribbean with good service and a bit of a party atmosphere.

Chinese does not get much more authentic than PF Changs China Bistro located at the Mall of Georgia. The food is traditional Chinese Thai.

Lupita’s Mexican Resturaunt on 2040 Beaver Ruin Rd is the best in the area. I have been known to drive the 10 miles from my home to there just for the cheese dip so I could serve it to my dinner guests.

Once called Kalamatas, Messina's Mediterranean Cuisine served Greek and Mediterranean food that is truly authentic. My favorites are the Gyros, and Baklava. Do not be surprised to find the truly Mediterranean atmosphere as well. If you show up at the right time, there could be dancing.

The unknown: Here are some of the less known gems that you should try out. You will not regret it.

Scoops on the Square in Downtown Historic Lawrenceville GA is an excellent sandwich and ice-cream shop with a down-home atmosphere.

Rays Hot Wings was a tiny little storefront where hot wings and other yummy foods were served. There are several Rays Hot Wings in the greater Atlanta area. Most recently, Stingrays restaurant opened on route 120.

Big Joy II not to be confused with Big Joy is located on route 120 near the Hobby Lobby store. It is a small Chinese restraint with the regular menu and a special authentic Chinese menu as well. Food from the special menu is spicier and you have to have a palate for authentic Chinese to enjoy it. If you like Thai food, you will like it.
