Guide to area code "404" - Georgia, United States
(Atlanta, Decatur, East Point)

Where to shop in 404 area code

The 678 Area Code covers numerous counties in Georgia including, but not limited to Gwinnett, Cobb, and Cumming counties. This area that 678, 770, and 404 area code randomly covers is also known as The Greater Atlanta Area. Needless to say, there is an exhaustive amount of places to shop. In the 678 area code, you will find numerous plazas, several malls and a few outlet centers as well.

Plazas: There are as many plazas in the 678 area code as there are neighborhoods. For example, for the Huncrest/ Telfair neighborhood consisting of about six gated subdivisions, and several un-gated neighborhoods has a Publix Supermarket, dollar store, private post office, nail salon, hair care store, dry cleaners, McDonalds, Quiznos, Pizza joint, and a few boutiques. These Plazas are hard to miss. They are generally found of the main streets of any city, or locality and there is at least one plaza within any 2-mile radius of any subdivision. Another example of the numerous plazas in 678 are code is Phipps Plaza in Buckhead, just across the street from Lenox Mall, which boasts an AMC multiplex movie theatre, Nordstrom's and Saks Fifth Avenue as anchor departments stores, more than a 100 specialty stores.

Malls: The 678 area code has many malls, both upscale and low end. Some of these are:

1. Gwinnett Place Mall: a mall that has lost many of its anchor stores lately, but looks to be coming back to life and finding new vendors geared to the multi ethic population that surrounds the mall. If you are in Gwinnett County and looking for Formal Clothing options, you will find a few stores for women’s dresses, a tuxedo shop, and David’s Bridal in perimeter of the mall.

2. Lenox Square Mall in Buckhead has a Macy’s, Bloomingdales, and hundreds of specialty stores and restaurants. Like its surrounding area, this mall is also upscale.

3. The Mall of Georgia: One of the metro Atlanta area's largest malls features Dillard's, Macy's, JC Penney, and Lord & Taylor, and over 200 specialty stores. It also has a multiplex movie theatre and an IMAX theatre. This mall serves as a major amusement center for North Georgia. This mall has many places to work and play or just hang out.

4. The Gallery at South DeKalb (Formerly South DeKalb Mall) has a Macy’s, Sears, and designer clothing stores like Ashley Stewart and GQ. This mall caters to the affluent, African-American shopper.

Outlet Malls: My personal favorite venues for shopping are the outlet malls. They are:

1. Discover Mills, at 120 and Sugarloaf has a Burlington Coat Factory, a Ross, a Sears Outlets, a KB Toys, and much more. It also boasts AMC Movie Theatre, Jillian’s, and most recently a Medieval Ages, a Renaissance/ Jousting/dinner theatre venue. If you should want to work at a Mall, where you can attend an early morning church service on Sundays before work, this is the place.

2. North Georgia Premium Outlets features 140 outlet stores in an outdoor setting. You will find Ann Taylor, Coach, Nike, and Liz Claiborne. Tanger Outlets is across the street.
