Golden Gate Park and more in San Francisco
Hmmmm. Everywhere! The entire 415 area code is like one big playground for adults. Just put on you’re walking shoes and go. But to help narrow it down, here are some places definitely worth checking out.
Golden Gate Park: This 3-mile-long park has it all. Museums, fabulous gardens, horse races, Opera in the Park, and everything else you could possibly put in a park. Oh, and lots of grass and foliage, of course.
Museums: Get ready to view some of the world’s most famous artists and their art at any of the following museums:
San Francisco Museum of Modern Art
151 Third Street (between Mission and Howard Streets)
San Francisco, CA 94103
The Legion of Honor
100 34th Ave,
San Francisco, 94121
The de Young
Golden Gate Park?
50 Hagiwara Tea Garden Drive?
San Francisco, CA 94118
Bay to Breakers: If you happen to be in San Francisco in mid-May, and you’re the ambitious type, try running this popular seven-mile race through the hilly city. If you happen to be in San Francisco in mid-May and you’re not so ambitious, put on those walking shoes, grab a couple beers and join the seven-mile trek for party-goers who don’t feel like running. People dress up in all kinds of costumes to make the journey and it truly is one giant party, except at this party, you get a work out. The race begins at the Hyatt on the Embarcadero and ends at the ocean.
Giants game: AT&T Park is one of the nicest stadiums in the country and watching the San Francisco Giants play is a great way to pass an afternoon or an evening. Watch Barry Bonds hit a home run, take kids down the slide in the giant Coke bottle (or go down it yourself), and just have some good, old-fashioned fun.
